"Hmm, I can deal with that," Kakashi mused without much care as he continued on towards the stone monument. He would need to discuss it with the 5th, but it was possible to set up a barrier around the village. Not only would it protect against spiritual enemies, but it could be used to protect against the inevitable assault from Amegakure or Otogakure. Kakashi watched his student with a solemn demeanor. "You need to focus on training. You're gonna be hit hard tomorrow. All this was a series of tests,"He announced, then rested a hand on his shoulder so the guards outside the mansion wouldn't be suspicious. Good thing he was in the Black Ops. The moment he made it to the door, it burst open and a rather anxious Shizune ushered them in."Where were you?!"She demanded, while the pig in her arms whined from the tension in her hold. Her tone was more scared and distressed than anything. Kakashi didn't blame her in the slightest. He ran a hand through his hair and was about to answer, but the other Jonin forced them up the stairs and into the Hokage's assignment room. "Wait here!"She snapped, then placed Tonton in Ichigo's hands and ran out into the hall.

"Haaaahhh....Alright.." Ichigo shrugged, running a hand through his hair before shoving both in his pockets. If Kakashi was determined... Closing his eyes, the massive clothed sword materialized into his hand, and he held it out expectantly, but bit his lip at the same time.Who knew what Zangetsu would do? Blow up in his teacher's face? If the dislike was that obvious, he'd just take his zanpakuto back. No big deal.
Sighing again at the mentionig of training, the teenager nodded and continued to saunter along. If Kakashi wated to train him, he was determined to excell, just like he did with Kisuke. A smirk began to play on his features. That would show him.
Nearing Tsunade's house, he looked up at the awnings, and decided that would make a good place to sit if he had any late-night nightmares-which had begun to occur frequently. Attention snapping to the sudden appearance of the assistant, he blinked rapidly as he was ushered up the stairs and into a room, but even more so as the pig was shoved into his arms. That was...random. "Uh...Am I in trouble?"

"You should be,"Tsunade said the moment she entered the room, both hands on her hips. She stared at them with all seriousness. "Do you not understand that there are people out there who want you dead?" She could tell he did, but nonethless both of them were idiots. Wasn't Shikamaru meant to watch him? Where the hell did he go? Kakashi crossed his arms and remained innocent in demeanor."He wasn't alone, but I suppose he was seperated from Shikamaru st some point,"He said as though he had read her thoughts. The Sannin thinned her lips and stared hard at the replacement, clearly wanting him to add more.

Ichigo winced as if slapped as the Hokage graced them with her presence. Of course... He shrugged at her words. That didn't really mean anything to him. Sure people wanted him dead. He could probably count off ten from off the top of his head, but he realy didn't think Tsunade was talking about Aizen.
As if bored, his chocolate eyes wandered off and he scratched at the back of his head uncomfortably. Once the teenager knew he was being watched, his attention snapped back to the woman before him. "What? I just left for a few minutes to take care of a couple of Hollows. No big deal." Ichigo inwardly narrowed his eyes. Normally when adults were worried about him, that meant something big was comming-and he needed to be ready.
"Hollows?"Tsunade repeated with obvious tension. Her most talented assassin came to stand beside her and whispered something. In that moment, Shizune entered and scurried over to where the replacement stood. She smiled at him and took the piglet, then watched the other two with a worried demeanor."There's a lot going on,"She mused, then turned a bit and directed her attention towards Ichigo. "She wouldn't care as much otherwise. We're all not safe, really, since our enemies believe Lady Tsunade is still missing." Normally she would never discuss this with a child, but he was on the same boat as Naruto. So long as he remained here, Akatsuki might come for him. She shuddered. No one dared say the name outloud, but she could barely stand to do so in her mind. Once the hushed conversation came to an end, Kakashi rested a worried hand on Ichigo's shoulder, smiled, then dissapeared through the open window. "Ugh. He couldn't take the stairs?"Tsunade mumbled with some humor. She motioned to the teen and lead him down the hall to his room.

ooc: Lmoa. Totally have Kakashi ignore the giant, five foot long sword that ichigo was trying to give to him, moony... :D
bic:
"Yeah. Hollows. They're evil spirits that feed on souls," the substitute clarified for Tsunade, almost reliving the part of his life where Rukia was telling him about the Hollows. Glad to be free of the bedazzled pig, Ichigo made a face and wiped his hands off on his pants and then stuffed them into his pockets. "Well, isn't that a good thing? You have the element of surprise, then." That's how it went, right? His smoldering eyes darted over to rest on his teacher nervously. He wasn't that great at sensing spirit energy, but the atmosphere seemed tense and strained. "Mmm, no. He likes windows." He shot back to his hostess, but followed her politely anyway, mind wraped up in the situation.
If the Akatsuki were after him, and they probably were, he would need to be at the top of his chakra game-and that meant training. But, without a doubt, Kakashi or someone would be watching the house-so his chance of escaping unnoticed was extremely small. He began to chew on his lip. He couldn't really do anything else anyway if he did manage to escape. Practice walking on water or running fast? He wouldn't put it past his sensei to magically rise from the sea, grab his ear and drag him back...
Ichigo came to his room faster tha anticipated, and stood stunned for a moment or two before turning his attention to the woman. "Thank you." With that, he slipped into the door and slid it shut before removing his shirt, tossing it into a forlorn pile on the floor, and tossed himself onto his bed, staring at the ceiling. Oh well. Maybe he would try escaping a later night-now he was tired from all the weird stuff his teacher had made him do. Slowly, the chocolate fadded from view and he fell into a restless sleep.

Tsunade awakened to the sound of scratching on her window. What the hell? She bolted upright in bed, blonde tangled hair loose around her face. Her eyes narrowed. "Tonton, stop it!" She shouted at the piglet, who continued to claw at the glass. In one smooth motion, she threw back the sheets and came to stand beside her bejeweled pet. She peered out.... and saw nothing. For some reason, this was a morning ritual. What was out there, she had no idea. It was probably nothing important. The Sannin sighed and cradled the piglet in her arms, opened the door and let her out. She cleaned herself up and dressed, applied make-up and did her hair. Tsunade strode out into the hall, answered all the guards who wanted to know how many assassination attempts she didn't deal with last night with an eye roll, and came to a halt outside Ichigo's door. She knocked. "Mornin', kid. You still alive?"

Ichigo's chest constricted in panic and he grasped at his sheets until his knuckles grew white. "No...No..." He murmured feverently, tossing and turning while he did so. "I won't...You won't get...Nngh..."
~+~
Ichigo grit his teeth, blocking an attack from his anti-self. "I won't let you have my body! You'll never control it! I won't let you!" The heavy clang of metal upon metal was the only sound that rang through the inner world.
Shirosaki smirked, blue tongue tracing his pale lips. "Uh-huh. Keep telling yourself that, King. But, one way or another-"
The substitute's chocolate eyes widened. Where the hell did he go?! He pulled in a breath as the same voice mused into his ear. "I will knock you down, and become the king myself."
Blood splattered upon the concrete as a white Zangetsu suddenly portruded through his stomach. Ichigo made a choking sound as the cold metal was ripped from his body, and he was sent plummeting down into darkness.
"Heheh...I win."
~+~
"NO!"
In that instant, the soul reaper was awake, panting heavily with a sheen of sweat over his bare torso. Gulping for air, a hand pressed onto his stomach-just to make sure it was still there, and the orange-haired teen relaxed the slightest. That dream... He gazed down at his hand, and clenched it. It felt so real...
"Huh? What?" Taking another breath, Ichigo rose from his bed and made his way over to the door before opening it a little. "Oh, it's you. Uh, good morning." He gave his best smile and rubbed the back of his head. Eww. It felt like he had just taken a shower. "Sorry. I had a bad dream."

Tsunade planted boths hands on her hips and frowned. "Yeah, me too. We're all restless these days,"She admitted with a small sigh. Especially with Gaara outa comission, She added to herself. It was really, ridiculously unfortunate that Sunagakure was weak when they already had enemies at their front door. Not only did she need to worry about them, but she had to support her allies at the same time. It was a complete mess. Tsunade smiled a bit and stepped aside, then motioned down the hall. "The washroom is that way, second door on the right. I'll send send Shizune to check on you when you're done." With that, she sauntered off towards the staircase and shouted for her assistant to make her something edible.

ooc: Lmao. Are you sure Tsu's not pregant already? :P
bic: Ichigo nodded thoughtfully at his elder's words, but grimaced inside. If the Akatsuki were after him, that would just add to the already heavy burdon his newfound friends were currently carrying. If there was anything he could do to remove that burdon... "Huh? Oh, okay, thanks. Yeah, I'll go do that right now." He bowed then retreated to gather up his clothing. Today was going to be training day. So what should he wear? The teenager wondered about it for a moment, before picking out a pair of tight-fitting pants and a slim-fit, long-sleeved shirt. That, and a pair of clean underwear he wrapped up under his arm and made to the wash room, following Tsunade's instructions very carefully to reach it. ~+~ In an explosion of steam, Ichigo stepped from the room, clean and dressed, his hair sopping wet and a towel hanging over his shoulder. That had felt so good, and he inhaled very slowly before attepting to dry the slightly-shaggy mane with the damp towel. "Hm...I wonder what I'm gunna learn," he murmured aloud to himself before taking a 'chill' position on the wall and waiting.

"Ichigo!" Shizune panted as she raced up the staircase. She came to a stop in front of him and tried to catch her breath, then smiled. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?" Without waiting for an answer she motioned towards the direction in which she'd came and lead him down to the dining room. She shouted orders to the servants, cried out in horror at the sight of Tonton running around with one of her mistress' slippers, and chased after him. The moment she snatched her into her arms, she smacked into something - or someone, on their way in. She squealed in embarrassment and released her hostage on impact. "Oh man, what did we miss?" Shizune stared up at the man's face as he braced her shoulders with both hands. He laughed, which accentuated the bandage across his nose. "Kotetsu! You scared me," She sighed, then smiled awkwardly and nodded to his partner. "You two are early." The other man made a face and checked the time, shot a murderous glance at Kotetsu, and breathed out in annoyance. "Sorry, we-" "Who's he?" Kotetsu cut across once he noticed the unfamiliar ginger in the room. Shizune gasped and palmed herself in the face, then motioned to him. "He's, um... well Naruto's replacement," She introduced with uncertainty. The two men echanged knowing looks, then smiled at him. The quieter one held out his hand. "Hey. I'm Izumo Kamizuki, and this idiot is Kotetsu Hagane." Kotetsu rolled his eyes at him, mumbling to himself. "Yeah. What he said. We're the Hokage's errand-boys," He snorted, which earned him a dissaproving look from the other adults in the room. One of the servants came out and announced that breakfast was ready. Kotetsu's eyes lit up. Shizune noticed and sighed heavily. "Well, since you're here, you might as well have something to eat," She suggested. Izumo opened his mouth to argue, but an elbow to the ribs shut him up.

At his name being called, the orange-haired teenager looked up from his feet. He left his position on the wall for a more erect one as Tsunade's assisstant paused before him. He couldn't help but smile at her flustered appearance. "Yeah, I did. Thanks for asking-" Ichigo grinned, embarrassed and rubbed the back of his neck as Shizune began walking away. Just ignore him... Obediently, he trailed after her, attention on the walls. There was something he liked about this house... "Wha-? Hey!" He raced to catch up with his guide who had accidentally run into two other guys. This was awkward, but the Substitute put on his best smile anyway. "Hi, I'm Ichigo Kurosaki. Nice to meet you, Izumo, Kotetsu." Pausing as he heard the 'breakfast alarm', his teenage boy salivary glands began working overtime and a characteristic stomach-growl accompanied it. "Mm. Sounds like a good idea. C'mon." Wait...Why was he playing host? "Er...Sorry. That's not my place."
"Wow. Your hair shoulda given me a clue," Kotetsu teased with a playful smile, both hands in his pockets. His partner shook his head and sighed, then watched as Shizune ran off at the sound of her mistress' voice. He smiled somewhat at Ichigo and motioned towards the guest dining room. "More yours than ours," He pointed out, then strode towards it with Kotestsu close at his heels. Both of them sat down and said hello to one of the ANBU guarding the room. "It's hard get used to 'em," Izumo commented in a hushed tone, "Hell, sometimes I don' feel comfortable with Kakashi around." Kotetsu nodded his agreement and waited until the servants set down their food and retreated before leaning towards Ichigo. He shot a glance at the guards, then whispered, "Yeah. No one trusts them after what Itachi-" Both ANBU snapped their heads around and tensed at the name. Izumo smacked a hand over his mouth to shut him up, hissing his dissaproval. "Idiot! Watch what you say!" He pleaded, an almost desperate terror in his normally solemn eyes.

ooc: Lmoa. Watch Kakashi be RIGHT THERE. Like, under the table or something. Just grab Ichigo's foot.... That's riiiight... heehee!
Ichigo gave a half-hearted smile, and subconsciously ran a hand through his bright orange hair. He hated being called berry-head. He was more of a guardian than a strawberry... "Yeah, I get that a lot. It's natural." Then, under his breath added, "at least I don't get beaten up here for it..." He frowned slightly at the flashback that accompanied it, and winced at the part where he was given a swirlie. That hadn't been fun. Taking a seat at the table, he habitually leaned it backwards until it balanced on two legs while he played with the eating utensils. Until the time when the two men had mentioned his teacher, he hadn't been paying attention to the conversation. But now he listened closely. Puzzled chocolate eyes narrowed in a thoughtful expression. Itatchi...Who was he? Ichigo noticed his name had the same effect as the word 'Akatsuki'. "What did he do?"
Kotetsu bit his lip, had a silent, fierce arguement with his more cautious partner, and evidently won from the wary glance Izumo cast at the two guards. He knew it was a touchy subject for them. I wasn't so much that others didn't trust the ANBU - they did now more than ever since their performance against Itachi and Kisame - but there were rumors that suggested they had something to do with the Uchiha Massacre. But the 3rd Hokage was sure to blame any suspicions on the corrupted ROOT branch. Kotetsu leaned closer to Ichigo, all seriousness in his face. "He wiped out his entire clan," He whispered in a bitter, ominous tone. "Every one of them... except his little brother, Sasuke." Izumo shook his head and seemed almost saddened at the name. It still bothered him that he'd let him leave the village without questioning his motives. Plus Naruto had once blamed them for it, and that wasn't much help. He sighed and watched the replacement with a small smile, not even aknowledging his food. "Yeah, it killed the poor kid. He ran away about a month ago to get revenge. I mean he's brilliant, trained right under Kakashi, but I don' think he can handle his brother," Izumo mused out loud, then to himself mumbled the words, "He's dead." His damn teacher couldn't take on an Akatsuki without nearing death, so what the hell made him think he could do it? Kotetsu nodded with too much emphasis and whistled in absolute agreement. Four Jonin combined couldn't beat Itachi, with or without Kakashi's Sharingan - and that was pretty bad. "So Itachi bailed out and signed up for this secret organization - which isn't much of a secret since we know about it," He commented in a matter-of-fact tone, then shrugged. "Anyway, it's called," - He hesitated - "Akatsuki." Had the ANBU not been wearing masks, he was sure he'd die from a death glare. No one mentioned them. Ever. Only those directly under the Hokage even knew the name. But every single person in the village had heard of the terrible things they'd done, and matched it up with the one member known to them: Itachi Uchiha.

Ichigo noted how skitterish the other men were being and felt highly important. If it weren't him, they wouldn't have been speaking about it in the first place. As Kotetsu came closer, the ginger leaned in further to help keep the secretive mood. It was almost like telling a ghost story, the way his face was set... His brown eyes widened in silent horror at the first sentance. Itatchi...he wiped out his entire clan? Every one of them? "Woah..." This was intense. Sasuke... Ichigo's jaw clenched. He didn't know why, but he had a feeling that he might be seeing him soon-maybe even fighting him. but he had made a promise to Naruto, a promise that he wouldn't kill Sasuke. Even as the green-vested man announced that he was dead, the unsettling feeling still wouldn't go away, but kept gnawing at him. A chill seemed to enter the room as his companions spoke out the name of the organization. Akatsuki. It felt like a poison that numbed the senses, and for the second time he had gotten here, he felt scared. He gulped before turning back to his untouched food. His stomach clenched, and he didn't feel much like eating, but knew he would have to in order to have the strength to train. Not that it would be more intense than Hat-n-Clogs'...
